YUNG YUNG
PB.20220901.RNGYLo Yu 盧妤
The title uses handwriting by the protagonist Yung Yung herself. The characters look correct at first glance but are misspelled. Familiar on the surface, misaligned underneath, echoing her displaced identity. At the center of the cover is an empty ceramic bowl, pointing to both the protagonist's profession as a ceramicist and the emotional void at the heart of the story. It echoes the author's chosen cover line: "What I swallow might be your absence; what fills my stomach is also your absence."
The interior typography follows the author's unconventional prose. Some passages are written as lists, requiring careful spatial arrangement to preserve their rhythm without leaving a trace of design. Most of my effort went into making the reading feel effortless. Every decision stays plain and serves the text, drawing no extra attention. The writing is the protagonist.
